The first Yoko Ono song I remember hearing is Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow). As I recall, it was the B-Side to the hit single, Cold Turkey. And, there was a live version on Live Peace in Toronto.
Most people I knew hated the song. And, they hated her, for a whole list of their own reasons. But, as I listen to it again nearly 50 years later, I hear Patti Smith in there, I hear the B-52's, I hear Lene Lovich and I hear a whole bunch of First Wave Punk influences. And, you know what?
Yoko Ono is 85 years old and has a new album out...who would have thunk?
