Have you ever dreamed of throwing out the opening pitch at a major
league baseball game? Now you can cross that wish off your bucket list
when you make the winning bid offered by Women In Trucking
Association. The online auction is set to begin at 7:00 a.m. on June
20, 2015 and will last for ten days.
The proceeds from the auction will go toward funding scholarships for students entering the transportation industry. This year, seven students were awarded scholarships in six areas of training. From technician to professional driver to driver’s health issues, five females and one male were the recipients of the 2015 WIT Foundation scholarships.
The highest bidder in the auction will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the August 8th game against the Minnesota Twins and also receive four game day tickets. The 7:05 pm game is the popular Rock and Blast Fireworks night. The 30 minute fireworks show is their biggest of the season. The first 10,000 fans will also enjoy a Brantly bobblehead giveaway.
Auction bids can be entered online at http://www.32auctions.com/firstpitch2015. The auction will end at 11:45 p.m. on June 30, 2015.
The ceremonial first pitch auction is in conjunction with the third annual Women in Transportation event. This event is an opportunity for the Cleveland Indians to recognize women in the transportation industry and acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, one of Northeast Ohio-based icons in the transportation industry, is lending their support for women in transportation with major contributions to the event. Travel Centers of America and T&K Logistics are also set to sponsor the event.
